Highlights gone wrong?

so i got highlights to lighten my dark hair and i wanted them light brown. The stylist made them a blonde with a tint of a caramelly color.. I dont wsnt them like this...my hair is soooo damaged i dont want to dye it anymore... Is there anywau i can turn them brown or tint them more brown??? If dying is the only option would just dying my strands damage my hair all over again?? Please help :0
