Is fresh window tint always darker?

like i just had my car tinted, front 35%, back 20%.. the front and back color is so similiar, I didn't even want the front so dark.. is it because the tint is fresh? (i hope) and it would fade later when it is settled in.. because right now.. the front (35%) and the back (20%) looks very similar, and i dont like it because the front is too dark.
